Frequently Asked Questions ( Updated: 12/17/2003 )

General Game Questions

Q: I noticed in your screenshots that multiplayer modes that have more than 2 players all show the song difficulty as being the same. Why is that?
A: If you are in Battle Mode on Xbox Live™ or in your home, everyone participating will have the same difficulty for the song chosen. This is unlike Versus in the normal Game Mode where players can choose their own difficulty. On Xbox Live™, the difficulty setting is used to match you with other players who are currently online.

Q: How many dance pads can be plugged into the Xbox at one time?
A. Ultramix supports the use of all 4 controller ports available on the Xbox system. You will be able to plug 4 pads in at one time.

Q: Wow 4 pads at once! Can we play Versus-Doubles!?
A. Ultramix only supports for the use of all four pads in Battle Mode . Versus mode is the same as previous DDR mixes, where it's only two players against each other on two pads.

Q: Are there going to be additional characters?
A. The characters of Afro and Lady are the only characters available for Ultramix.

Q: Will Ultramix be available for other systems?
A. At this time, Ultramix will only be available for the Xbox system.

Song Questions

Q: Can we use our own songs and/or mixes with our own steps?
A. Ultramix does not support the custom soundtrack ability of the Xbox system, so you will be unable to use your own songs and create your own step-data. This also prevents users from uploading their own songs.

Q: Are there going to be song packs available on CD instead of Xbox Live™ for those people without a Broadband connection?
A. Currently, we have no plans to release any expansion CD's with additional songs for Ultramix.

Xbox Live™ Questions

Q: When we play online, how would we be able to determine if a player is using a controller or a pad?
A. Ultramix will display an icon stating what each player is using to play the game.

Q: So we will get Song Packs to download? How much will the song packs cost and how many songs will be in each download?
A. Song packs will be available on the Xbox network when you log-on to Xbox Live™ through Ultramix. Song packs will contain 5 songs (pre-determined) and will cost $5 to download. Song pack information will be made available on our website at : Xbox Live . You may also view Microsoft's Announcement on Song Pack #1 (Sorry, Xbox Live Song Downloads will not available in Canada)

Q: How are the song packs paid for? Do we get a seperate bill?
A. If you are allowed to download premium content, song packs will be billed to the Credit Card you have registered with your Xbox Live™ account. The charge should appear on your next billing statement.

Q: I already own "Brand X" PlayStation/PlayStation 2 pads, is there an adapter that I can buy that will work with the Xbox?
A: There are several adapters that can convert PlayStation/PlayStation 2 pads to work with the Xbox system. Please check with your local Video game boutique/store for accessories to be used with the Xbox. As more information comes in about specific adapters, we will post their information. If you are currently using and adapter that you find that works well, please email us at Dance Dance Revolution FAQ and we will add them to our list.
